Backing up your system drive in windows 7

Windows 7 comes loaded with various tools that come handy. System backup tool is something that really makes me say WOW! Windows!
Ok, here I will show you how to back up your system drive and keep it safe somewhere. You can always go back to that stage anytime with just some clicks!
Lets get started: (Please keep a blank disc handy before starting). You can create a rescue disk later as well but its always best to finish everything that you start with.

First You have to prepare a disk (preferably an external drive). Now start up the “back up and restore” tool from the control panel.

Select create a system image

choose your drive where you want to keep a backup copy and click next…

You are done. Please have patience as it might take a while. However, you continue to work on your system as usual. After the back up is finished the system will ask you to create a rescue disk. Please create one and keep it in a safe place, this disc will be needed if your system is severly infected, or Windows becomes too unstable.

Now, stop worrying and start computing!

I have been this irresistible Iron Man fan since childhood. And loved the movie version when it released some years ago. Now, its another anxious time for me as Iron 2 Man is releasing this May. The movie trailer seems great! And I can’t wait till the day it releases in India. Its a call to all those Iron Man fans out there… go and watch the review. The tech and gizmos will surely ruffle some of your brain feathers….

Some of our Korea week 2009 works.

We were honored to be part of this grand event that concluded just recently. We have been working very hard to put together some of the best things that we could do and we were not disappointed, LG loved our work and we are waiting for some more work very soon from them. This was our first professional project and we were pretty nervous in the beginning as they gave us a very tight schedule. But everything worked out fine.

For us this is just the beginning and we are loving it! Henju graphics or HE weblogics Pvt. Ltd. is up and raring to surge from within!

Windows 7 and Ubuntu works fine!!

Ubuntu and Windows 7 run as smooth as they can. I am running Ubuntu 8.10 under Virtual box in Windows 7 and they work just fine. Now I can do all my stuff on both the OS and they integrate into each other. I do not have to switch between windows as they run on the same desktop. Try it out!

you will need latest version of virtual box from Sun microsystems and install the guest additions in your Ubuntu installation. It is not just limited to running Ubuntu, but you can run any other OS in the same way. Even XP runs, and it would be better I guess. Go ahead and have fun while you work!!!

We are a small “side kick” business affiliated to Hornbill Express, we’ve just started, so nothing much to brag about but we have gathered some graphic professionals who would help you make your dreams come true. We create all sorts of graphics be it web banners, logo, advertisements, etc. we are even on the verge of formally opening our 3D animation section as well.

We have recently done some graphics for Department of East Asian Studies Delhi University’s annual event the Korean week 2009. (We will post our works after 27th Nov, as we are not permitted to show them right now!) Which involved creating web banners, posters, and a short animated intro video.

Windows 7′s control Panel is not for novice

One place that Microsoft might have ignored in Windows 7 is the Control Panel in Windows 7. There is too much stuff packed inside. The theme of Windows 7 is SIMPLICITY! and indeed it does stand its ground when it comes to desktop, the new taskbar, start menu, etc. but the default control panel view is too simple even for geeks! Well, everything is hidden…well, almost! And when we switch to large icons or small icons the Control Panel becomes some kind of “find me if you can puzzle.” Its hard even to find add and remove program tool (which was re-christened as programs and features from Vista age). Those who are looking to put down Microsoft are finding this flaw as an easy target! Its all over the cloud! Espacially Apple has started new ads around this flaw!
But overall, Windows 7 still is a rock solid OS and it works great!

Its everywhere over the “cloud” everyone is talking about it, some are writing about it, some are searching for it (PB) hehe, some are still confused about it… Yes, Windows 7 is out now and its all over the internet. Every other geek is writing about it. So, we thought why don’t we write something too!!

The controversial “I am PC” ad has made it to yet another milestone. Apple’s “I am MAC” made fun of PC but we were pretty sure from the beginning that this counter ad by Apple would back fire! And it did. Instead of creating more MAC users it created much more Windows lover…of sort.Microsoft realised that their Vista affair was brutally wrong and so in just 2 years they are back with yet another but better and well refined OS that even runs on PCs that Vista politely refused to run. And not just “run” it worked just like XP (almost). We believe that Windows 7 would only get better with time, as third party drivers get updated (which is actually been initiated already). Most of the drivers are already been updated and the good news is that Windows 7 comes pre-loaded with all required drivers (yeah, even Vista also came with needed drivers included. But Windows7 is much more stable). Microsoft seems to have learned a great deal from its Vista fiasco, and so it has made great advance towards drivers and compatibility issues.

We just recieved our copy of Windows 7 ultimate today and we were more than happy to upgrade our systems with it. Definitely we were not disappointed, as we have been using it since those beta release days and loved it. Now that we have it with us we are more than glad to be among those first chaps to upgrade. We tested the final version by installing all the apps that we normally use for production, such as Adobe photoshop CS3, Fireworks, Illustrator, flash, etc. and we are quite impressed by the performance of the OS. All these apps ran without a glitch and loaded much faster as well. Just 3D Max failed to perform, maybe we need to upgrade to later version of the software. Overall, we are very impressed by windows 7 and its crisp UI. One more feature we just fell in love with is the new “Bitlocker to go” with which you can encrypt whole of your USB flash drive and forget about your data security. It locks up the whole drive and its contents can only be accessed with the password you made. We will come back with more…

We will continue our Windows 7 reviews for some days now. You are welcome to put up your comments and questions regarding this OS and we are sure that we will have some fun talking “Windows7″ here…

Windows 7 also comes in three major flavours: Windows7 Home premium, Windows7 enterprise/business, Windows7 ultimate. They are almost same as different flavors that were available in vista.
